Michigan Special Education Mediation Program (MSEMP).

DRER and the CDRP provide facilitation and mediation services to resolve disputes related to services for children with special needs.  DRER also provides specialized training for experienced facilitators and mediators wishing to work in this field.

The MESMP has a successful track record.  More than 80 percent of cases reach resolution and more than 90 percent of the parties involved in mediation have said they were satisfied with the process.  Cases can be scheduled and concluded within a month and the MSEMP's services are free to users.

The program is funded by a federal grant and administered by the Michigan Department of Education.  To learn more see the program's website at www.cenmi.org/msemp.
